Setting up Logic Audio for use with the EZbus as a Software Control Surface (Logic V. 4.7 and higher)
Windows Millennium and Windows XP users can send and receive MIDI information via the EZbus/computer USB port. Users of other operating systems (Win 98 SE, Win 2000) will need an additional MIDI interface installed and configured within Logic Audio to send/receive MIDI data between the EZbus and Logic Audio.
Download the EZbus Logic Audio Control Surface Profile (.ebs) and Logic Environment (.LSO) files. Once downloaded, upzip the files to your desktop and copy the Logic Audio Profile (.ebs) to the following location on your hard drive: C:\Program Files\Event\EZbus\Profiles. Copy the EZbus Control Template (.LSO) to: C:\Program Files\Event\EZbus.
Step 1.) Loading the Logic Audio Control Surface Profile into
the EZbus
There are two ways to load Profiles into the EZbus. One way is to click on the
"EZ" icon located in your Windows System Tray. Scroll up and select the
Logic Audio Profile within the Control Surface Profiles directory.
This automatically sends the Logic Audio profile to the EZbus via USB.
The second way of loading the Profile into the EZbus is to use the EZbus
Profile Editor. Click on the "EZ" icon located in your Windows System
Tray and select Profile Editor. Once the
editor is open, go to FILE > OPEN. Look in: C:\PROGRAM FILES\EVENT\EZBUS.
Select the Logic Audio profile. Click
the little yellow arrow to send the Logic Audio profile to the EZbus.

Step 2.) Loading the EZbus Control Template into Logic Audio
Launch Logic Audio. Go to File > Open. Browse to the following
directory: C:\PROGRAM FILES\EVENT\EZBUS. Open the file call EZbus Control
Template. This file is Logic Environment that has a two-bank setup for managing
four audio inputs and mixing down 12 audio tracks.
Step 3.) Setting up the EZbus Audio Drivers
Next we need to set up Logic Audio to recognize and use the EZbus audio
drivers. Within Logic, go to Audio > Audio Hardware & Drivers.

Click the tab labeled
Audio Driver. Place a checkmark next to PC AV and select EASI Direct
Sound. Place a checkmark next to Wave Player and select EZbus.

Now select the tab labeled
Audio Driver 2. Place a checkmark next to ASIO and select ASIO EZbus
Driver. Click the Control Panel button and select your Sample Size and Latency
value.

Step 4.) Operating Logic Audio from the EZbus Front Panel
The EZbus and Logic Audio are now set up to allow you to use the EZbus to control
various Logic Audio parameters, such as volume, pan, mute, and solo. To see
how this works, we'll open the Logic Audio mixing console. Go to Windows #1
and select Open Track Mixer.

The chart below shows how the EZbus hardware controls are mapped to the various
Logic Audio mixing console parameters.
