Setting up Deck 3.5 to use the EZbus as a Software Control Surface
and USB Audio Device
Note: OSX 10.1.2 or later is required for these operations.
Step One
Launch
OSX 10.1.2. On your EZbus, press the SYSTEM button followed by the NEXT
button until the EZbus LCD reads USB CONFIGURATION. Using the VALUE
WHEEL, set the configuration to Audio+MIDI+Bulk. Double-click the
System button to save this setting.
Step Two
Download the OSX_Profile_Loader.sea
file to your desktop.
This file is a self-extracting Stuffit file containing the EZbus OSX Profile Downloader and the factory-programmed EZbus Profiles (software control surface configurations). Once downloaded, double-click on the icon to unstuff the files. The following files will appear on your desktop:

Step Three
Download
the Deck 3.5 Control Surface Profile, unstuff
it, and place it into your EZbus Profiles folder. Accompanying the Deck 3.5 Control Surface Profile is the EZbus/Deck
MIDI Map. Place this file within Deck's MIDI Map folder.
The EZbus Profile
Downloader is launched by double-clicking on the file's icon. The EZbus Profiles
folder contains profiles for various music applications including Deck, Digital
Performer, Cubase VST, Pro Tools, and so on. These Profiles can be recognized
by their *.ebs extensions.
Step Four
Enter Virtual mode on the EZbus by pressing the unit's Audio/Virtual
button so that the LED next to the button is unlit. Launch the EZbus
Profile Downloader and select the Deck profile from the Profile Files
pull-down menu. Your EZbus LCD should now read "Deck." EZbus is now set up to
control Deck 3.5.

Step Five
Now that the EZbus is set up to control Deck via MIDI, Deck itself needs to
be configured to recognize the MIDI data coming generated by the EZbus. Within
Deck, go to File > Load MIDI Map. Point the browser to the
location where you saved the EZbus Deck MIDI Map, then click O.K.
The EZbus is now set up to control various Deck parameters via MIDI.
