Setting up Digital Performer (2.7-3.0) for use with the
EZbus as a USB Audio Interface
Mac OS up to 9.2
Go to your Control Panel and launch Sound Manager. Go to the Input Tab and select Line In.
Launch Digital Performer, and go to Basics > Configure Audio System > Configure Hardware Driver

Select USB Audio for the Input Driver and Line In for the Input Source.

Setting up Digital Performer (2.7 or later) to use the EZbus as
a Software Control Surface
The EZbus Digital Performer control surface configuration ("Profile") emulates
the actions of the TASCAM US-428. To use this Profile, you must first download
the TASCAM US-428 Digital Performer Plug-in (found on the TASCAM Web site),
and unstuff the file to the Digital Performer > Plug-Ins folder on your hard
disk.
Note, too, that Mac OSX v. 10.1.2 is required to configure the EZbus.
After the EZbus has been configured, you can return to OS 9.xx to run Digital
Performer.
Step One
Download the OSX_Profile_Loader.sea
file to your desktop.
This file is a self-extracting Stuffit file containing the EZbus OSX Profile Downloader and the factory-programmed EZbus Profiles. Once downloaded, double-click on the icon to unstuff the files. The following files will appear on your desktop:

Step
Two
Download the Digital Performer Control Surface Profile
file and place it into your EZbus Profiles folder.
The EZbus Profile
Downloader is launched by double-clicking on the file's icon. The EZbus Profiles
folder contains profiles for various music applications, including Digital Performer,
Cubase VST, Pro Tools, and so on. These Profiles can be recognized by their
*.ebs extensions. You can leave these files on your desktop, or copy them to
any location on your hard disk that is easy to access.
Step Three
Launch
OSX 10.1.2. On your EZbus, press SYSTEM followed by NEXT until
your display reads USB CONFIGURATION. Using the VALUE WHEEL, set
the configuration to Audio+MIDI+Bulk. Double-click the System button
to enter this setting.
Step Four
Launch the EZbus Profile Downloader and download the Digital Performer
profile into your EZbus. Enter Virtual mode on the EZbus by pressing the unit's
Audio/Virtual button so the LED next to the button is unlit. Your
EZbus LCD should now read "Digital Performer." Your EZbus is now setup
to control Digital Performer.
Step Five
Take a MIDI cable from the EZbus MIDI 2 OUT, and connect it to the input of your MIDI interface.
Launch OMS and make sure that the drivers for your MIDI interface are recognized.
Step
Six
Launch Mac OS 9.xx, then start Digital Performer. Go to Basics > Control
Surface Setup. Select US-428 as your hardware device and choose the
appropriate MIDI communication setting for your MIDI interface. Note that the
EZbus sends its controller information on MIDI channel 16.
The EZbus is now set up to control various Digital Performer parameters via MIDI.
