Setting up Cool Edit Pro's Multitrack View for use with the EZbus as a USB Audio Interface/MIDI Device
Within Cool Edit Pro's Multitrack View, click on Out 1 within track number one's options.

Select EZbus as your playback device

Within Cool Edit Pro's Multitrack View, click on Rec 1 within track number one's options.

Select EZbus as your recording device. Select Stereo to record a stereo file. Select Left or Right to record a mono file depending on your EZbus input source settings.
Cool Edit Pro allows you to assign MIDI notes/controller numbers to various parameters within the application so that they can be controlled from a hardware controller, such as the EZbus. To do so, go to Options > Shortcuts, and assign the desired parameters to MIDI notes/controller numbers.

You can then map the EZbus hardware to the Cool Edit Pro parameters using the EZbus Profile Editor. Launch the Profile Editor by clicking the "EZ" icon located within your Windows System Tray.

Select Profile Editor
For each of your Cool Edit Pro shortcuts, select the EZbus control you wish to map, and enter the MIDI note/controller that corresponds to the Cool Edit parameter. For example, if you assigned Controller 63 to the File New command in the Cool Edit Pro Keyboard Shortcut window, you would assign Controller 63 to the EZbus hardware control that you wish to use to execute this command.

Once you have mapped the EZbus faders, knobs, buttons, etc., to the Cool Edit
Pro parameters, you must update the EZbus firmware by clicking the yellow download
button located at the top of the EZbus Profile Editor. This will load the
Cool Edit Pro Profile that you created into the EZbus via USB.
You must now enable MIDI Triggering within Cool Edit Pro by selecting
Options > MIDI Trigger Enable.
